Row down Lake George - June 2008

Also known as 'The Big Row, 2008'

Here is information about the upcoming bateau trip from the southern end of Lake George to the northern end of Lake George. It is presented primarily as Word or PDF files so that I don't need to maintain multiple versions of the same information. The information will be updated as time goes by.

Short summary: We will be rowing and sailing one or more bateaux from the southern end of Lake George all the way to the nothern end, starting on Wednesday, June 25 and arriving Friday, June 27. The trip is roughly 34 miles long, and will be done in replica 18th century bateaux (flat-bottomed cargo boats) owned by the Mabee Farm Historic Site and crewed by Schulyers Company of New York Provincials and other reenactors.

General Information - PDF - Trip overview, schedule, and some background on the boats.

Crew Information - PDF - Crew specific information: what to bring, what not to bring, etc.

Directions - PDF - Land directions to our starting and ending spots. Note that I don't have directions to our camping spots, as they are islands.

There are also a variety of links which might be of interest:
