Undergraduate President's
Report (J.J. Johns)
Membership: There are currently 3 pledges. 2 possible biddees, and 28 active
brothers. The house has 6 people living in for the spring, with an overfull
house for the summer (details being worked out). The house is full for the 1999-2000
school year.
House Upkeep: New cushions for the couches are enroute. Concrete work is set to be repaired during the summer. Fire Safety equipment is OK. Flower box and downstairs cabinet to be repaired. Posting escape routes has been taken care of.
Scholarship: No change.
Philanthropy: The undergraduates threw plastic figurines off the CII for money during GM Week.
Risk Management: OK, no issues to reported.
Undergraduate President's report approved.
Undergraduate Treasurer's
Report (Ellen Funderberg)
A certified letter was sent to an alum, results unknown as yet. Tardy alumni
discussed. Making tardy alumni pay interest was discussed. Undergrads need policy
for debt and when interest accrues. Ellen needs guidance legally. We are going
to contact delinquent alumni and collect.
Motion to accept undergraduate report. The undergraduate report was approved.
Pledge Tannenbaum was introduced.
Alumni Reports
Fundraising (Ernie Daniels)
$13,134.47 received. Fundraising continuing apace. Ernie requests assistance
with folks he doesn't know personally. Ernie commended for his efforts. Motion
to accept report. Motion approved.
Publications (Paul Furio,
who is giving his mother away in marriage, wasn't able to make the meeting)
See Publication report. It's a very nice report. Report accepted.
Founder's 1999 - We're here. The days schedule is discussed. It is noted that dessert will be at the chapter house.
Founder's Day Y2k Saavik and Angela will run Founder's Day 2000.
Nominations:
President: Steve Kryscnski
Vice-President: Saavik Ford
Treasurer: Robert Purser
Secretary: Brian Menyuk
House Manager: David Manthey
Alumni-at-Large: Paul Furio and Ernie Daniels
"Alumni-at-Large" positions explained. Nominations accepted.
House Manager - "The
House still stands."
Concrete work will occur in the summertime when there is less traffic. Other
projects: sealant for basement, asphalt gutter maintenance. Garage appears to
be OK. Bathroom was "stressed" by Bumper. Seems to be holding up allright. Ted
Hitchcock notes that bathroom floor has pitch to the corner suffering water
damage. If floor is repaired, the floor can be pitched a different way so that
water doesn't collect there. The state of the medicine cabinet was discussed.
Motion to accept House Manager's report. Motion approved.
Secretary's report
Brother Menyuk will look into starting an unmoderated internet discussion group
for the house expansion. The Secretary's efforts were commended. David Manthey
and Jason Mantor's work on the Alumni Web Site was also commended.
Treasurer's report
(Chuck Seegel)
$1500 in dues collected. Whoa! See report. Breakage deposit: Undergraduates
could give breakage deposit to the Alumni Association. We will need to file
a tax return for the Alumni Association. Undergraduate tax return was late,
and we owe money due to this error. Bob Corell will do both the undergraduate
and alumni returns provided that the necessary data is provided to him by August
